Animal Poster

Animal Poster

 These are the only animal posters that are exhibited.

 Cat Rules

  1. Posters will be turned in, judged and displayed in the Exhibit Hall like a non-walking project.
  2. You must be enrolled in the cat project to be able to exhibit a cat poster.
  3. The purpose of exhibiting a poster is to demonstrate knowledge gained through the 4-H Cat Project.  One poster will be sent to the State Fair from each level.
  4.  The 4-H Cat poster exhibits must meet the following standards:
    1. Size: 22”x28” displayed horizontally with stiff backing and covered with plastic, accompanied by label in the lower right hand corner.
    2. Each poster must have been made by the 4-H member enrolled in the current year’s 4-H Cat project.
    3. County division winners will represent Jay County at the Indiana State Fair.  These divisions are:  Junior: grades 3-5, Intermediate: grades 6-8, and Senior: grades 9-12.

State Fair Entries: Three

 Dog Rules

  1. Posters will be turned in, judged and displayed in the Exhibit Hall like a non-walking project.
  2.  You must be enrolled in the dog project to be able to exhibit a dog poster.
  3. The purpose of exhibiting a poster is to demonstrate knowledge gained through the 4-H Dog Project.  One poster will be sent to the State Fair from each level. 
  4. The 4-H Dog poster exhibits must meet the following standards:
    1. Size: 22”x28” displayed horizontally with stiff backing and covered with plastic, accompanied by label in the lower right hand corner.
    2. Each poster must have been made by the 4-H member enrolled in the current year’s 4-H Dog project.
    3. County division winners will represent Jay County at the Indiana State Fair.  These Divisions are:  Level 1: grades 3-5, Level 2: grades 6-8, and Level 3: grades 9-12.

State Fair Entries: Three

 Horse & Pony Rules

  1. Any 4-H Horse & Pony member may exhibit a poster in addition to or instead of showing their horse. They must complete a Horse & Pony Record Sheet starting May 1.  This is to be turned in with the poster at the Green Building Exhibit Hall.  To complete the project a record sheet must be completed.

 Poultry Rules

  1. Develop an idea and build it into an attractive display as well as learn the technical aspects of some part of the poultry industry.   Any 4-H poultry project member may exhibit a display board. 
  2. Display boards must be 22”x28” displayed horizontally.   Please see the “General Poster Construction” for more detailed exhibition requirements.  One display board per level is eligible to be exhibited at the State Fair.

  2. You must be enrolled in the rabbit project to be able to exhibit a rabbit poster
  3. The purpose of exhibiting a poster is to demonstrate knowledge gained through the 4-H Rabbit Project.  One poster will be sent to the State Fair from each level.
  4. The 4-H Rabbit poster exhibits must meet the following standards:
    1. Size: 22”x28” displayed horizontally with stiff backing and covered with plastic, Accompanied by label in the lower right hand corner.
    2. Each poster must have been made by the 4-H member enrolled in the current year’s 4-H Rabbit project.
    3. County division winners will represent Jay County at the Indiana State Fair.  These divisions are:  Level 1 grades 3-5, Level 2: grades 6-8, and Level 3: grades 9-12.

State Fair Entries: Three

Llama/Alpaca

Llama Poster Educational Exhibit Posters will be judged on theme, construction, style and language. Posters must have been constructed within one (1) year of exhibit and must follow general state poster guidelines Each poster must have been made by the 4-H member enrolled in the current year's 4-H program. Size - 22" x 28", displayed horizontally with stiff backing and covered with plastic accompanied by a name tag in the lower front right hand corner. Standards of evaluation: content and information (accuracy and completeness) - 40 points originality and creativity (attracts interest, encourages thought) - 25 points overall appearance/appealing (neatness, arrangement, background, workmanship, attention to detail) - 15 points suitable subject and age appropriate (matches child's age and ability) - 10 points conveys message/accomplishes purpose - 5 points meets exhibit requirements - 5 points Total - 100 points

 

Swine Poster Rules

No State Fair Project

  1. Posters will be turned in, judged and displayed in the Exhibit Hall like a non-walking project.
  2. The purpose of exhibiting a poster is to demonstrate knowledge gained through the 4-H Swine Project.
  3. The 4-H Swine poster exhibits must meet the following standards:

Any 4-H member may exhibit a poster in addition to or instead of showing their swine. They must complete a Swine record Sheet.  This is to be turned in with the poster at the Green Building Exhibit Hall during scheduled dates and times
