Here are the requirements for this project:
CROPS: CORN
4-H member must fill out a record sheet to be turned in with the green/white record book.
4-H members can exhibit both one (1) peck of shelled corn AND three full grown plants.
Note: 4-H members do not have to exhibit both a peck of shelled corn and three grown plants, but they can if they choose to do so. There will be a champion in each division and one overall grand champion corn exhibit.
Peck of Shelled Corn
- Exhibit one peck (8 quarts or ¼ bushel) of corn in sack furnished by member.
- One exhibit per member.
Full Grown Plants
- Exhibit three full grown plants in buckets.
- All plants must include a washed complete root system.
- On one of the plants, using shipping tags or 3” x 5” cards, correctly identify and label five exterior plant parts.
There will be three divisions divided according to members’ grades:
Beginner (Grades 3-5), Intermediate (Grades 6-8), Advanced (Grades 9-12)
