Here are the requirements for this project:

SEWING: SEWING FOR FUN

4-H members must fill out a record sheet.

1. Attach to project 4-H-618AW “4-H Craft Information Card” for description of work completed on the project.
2. If multiple pieces make up the exhibit, a photograph of the complete exhibit should be attached to the exhibit so the total exhibit can properly be displayed.
3. For safety purposes any craft exhibit that resembles a sword, knife, or look-a-like weapon, will be judged but will not be displayed.

Level A - Introductory (Grades 3-4) - Exhibit from one of the categories listed below.

1. Throw Pillow - no trim
2. Table Napkins - make two
3. 1 Oven Mitt, 1 Pot Holder or 1 Casserole Mitt
4. Hair Accessories - hair bow, ponytail holder or headband - make 2
5. Pre-printed Projects - aprons, banners, Christmas stockings, etc. You may be creative in adding trim to these items.
6. Or Your Choice - Sew an article showing comparable skills as the items listed above.

Level B - Begginning (Grades 5-6) - Exhibit from one of the categories listed below.

1. Throw Pillow - May be trimmed and/or ruffled with fabric or lace.
2. Mittens - 1 pair
3. Baby Doll Clothes - 1 outfit
4. Placemats with Napkins - 2 of each
5. Tablecloth with Napkins
6. Pillowcases - 1 pair - Be creative with ruffles, lace, etc. Pillowcases must be sewn by member.
7. Christmas Stocking - May use trim and/or pre-quilted fabric.
8. Or Your Choice - Sew an article showing comparable skills as the items listed above.

Level C - Intermediate (Grades 7-9) – Exhibit from one of the categories listed below.

1. Throw Pillow - May be a unique shape and have trim. Include an opening to remove pillow form.
2. Clutch Purse
3. Barbie Doll Type Clothes - 1 outfit
4. Round Tablecloth with Napkins
5. Table Runner - May use pre-quilted fabric or piece your table runner.
6. Wall Hanging - May use pre-printed fabric or may piece together; should be ready to hang.
7. Christmas Tree Skirt - May be pieced or pre-quilted fabric. Be creative with trim.
8. Or Your Choice - Sew an article showing comparable skills to the items listed above.

Level D - Advanced (Grades 10-12) - Exhibit from one of the categories listed below.

1. Throw Pillow - Must be a unique shape (example: heart shaped), or have a pieced top, be trimmed with lace/ruffle/cording and have a zipper opening.
2. Shoe Bag
3. Lamp Shade Cover
4. Window Treatment - shade, valance or curtain
5. Clutch Purse - with zipper
6. Bedspread or Coverlet - Pre-quilted or un-quilted fabric or pieced.
7. Outfit or Costume for Small Child
8. Chair Cushions
9. Or Your Choice – Sew an article showing comparable skills to the items listed above.
