4-H Camp is going to be "Wild Safari"!. Get ready for outrageous adventures at the Area II 4-H Camp. Camp will be held May31-June 2, 2019! 4-H members in grades 3-8 are invited to join the courageous explorers for a fabulous camping experience. Camp will be at Country Lake Retreat Center in Clark County. Check-in is Friday, May 31 from 9-10 a.m. and pick up is at noon on Sunday, June 2. With a shuttle list of nine counties camping together, you’re sure to make new friends. Invite your friends to join us. Be sure to let them know they must officially join 4-H in order to register for camp! Our Safari theme will be a lot of fun.
The total cost of camp is $170 per camper. Thanks to generous trip sponsors, several of our counties are able to help you reduce this cost. Please contact your specific county for more details on cost and payment. The registration fee includes all activity and class supplies, buffet meals, snacks, and a 4-H Camp t-shirt. The Safari Guides won’t tolerate any critters in the cabins, so please do not bring personal snacks or drinks to camp. No worries my explorers, snacks are included in the price of camp. There’s no need to bring any money to camp.
There’s limited space at 4-H Camp so get signed up quickly! All 4-H Camp registrations are being submitted through 4HOnline this year. Instructions for how to register are attached. No space money is accepted - payment should be made via check and turned in to the Purdue Extension Office. Your registration is due in 4HOnline by May 1, 2019. Health forms can be uploaded to 4HOnline, submitted to the Extension Office, or brought to camp with you on May 31.
Campers once again get to choose the classes they want to take at 4-H Camp. Be sure to enter your class choices in 4HOnline. Class choices will be on first come, first serve basis, so be sure to register ASAP to get the classes you want! We will do our best to accommodate all of your class choices, but you might be added to a class you did not choose. What a great way to learn something new!
Once you have enrolled in camp, be on the lookout after May 1 for a confirmation letter, including information about what to bring to camp. All good 4-H explorers will want to be prepared for wild adventures including canoeing, fishing, swimming in the lake or pool, crafts, recreation, and special classes. Check out the Country Lake Website for pictures and descriptions of the facilities: http://countrylake.org/.
