4-H Enrollment 

October 1 - January 15 4-H Enrollment for 2019 is open in 4honline.

Mini 4-H members in grades K-2 are FREE to join our Mini 4-H program.  Youth in grades 3 - 12 can join our 4-H Club program for only $15.

Enroll early to avoid missing out on any of the FUN!!!  Members, enrolled and paid, can request their project materials by calling the Extension Office.

October 1  4-H Volunteers Enrollment for 2019 is open in 4honline

4-H Volunteers please reactivate your account by November 1.  This helps us know who is returning as a volunteer and who is retiring.

No access to a computer to enroll?  A paper enrollment form (Mini or the 4-H Club program) is available at the bottom of this page in both English and Spanish.

 4-H Scholarships

4-H members (at least 3 years) and currently in grades 10 - 12 are encouraged to apply for STATE 4-H Scholarships.  They MUST be uploaded in your 4honline account by January 25.  If you would like Rae Ann to review your scholarship - email it to her by January 18.  Here is the website for additional information and the applications.  Click here.

7:00 p.m.  First Merchant Bank Heritage Hall.

November 22-23  Thanksgiving

Purdue Extension will be closed.

December

December 1  Deadline to apply to the National 4-H Conference

Youth currently in grades 10 - 12 can apply to represent Indiana at the National 4-H Conference.  Youth will have the opportunity to prepare and present to government officials on an issue that is of concern to the 4-H'er.  No more than 4 youth will be selected.  Click here  to apply.  Remember, applications are due December 1.

December 9  Santa at the Fairgrounds  - Hold the Date.  More details are coming.

January

January 1  New Year's Day

January 3  4-H Youth Advisory Board and Expansion & Review Committee  7 pm  Purdue Extension Office

Each club is encouraged to have a representative attend this meeting.  This is an opportunity for 4-H members to give input in to the 4-H program.

January 10  4honline Help  5:30 - 6:30 pm  Purdue Extension Office

Anyone needing assistance with 4honline and enrolling in 4-H is welcome.  Stop in and we will be happy to assist you.  Enter door #3.

January 14  4-H Leaders Meeting  7 pm  First Merchants Bank Heritage Hall

This is a VERY important meeting.  All 4-H Club Leaders are encouraged to attend.  We will be going over the NEW record sheets and grading.  Leader's club materials will also be available.  Please make this a priority to attend.

January 15  Open enrollment for 4-H closes.

This meeting is open to the public.

January 17  Beginning Leadership  6 - 8 pm  Real Colors  Purdue Extension Office

Youth in grades 6 - 12 that would like to learn their personality and how to better work with others, is invited to attend.  Youth MUST RSVP so we have materials available.  4-H members are FREE.  Youth, not enrolled in 4-H, $15.  RSVP to Purdue Extension at 260-358-4826.

YQCA is required of all youth exhibiting Beef, Dairy, Starter Calves, Swine, Goats, Sheep, Poultry, and Rabbits in Indiana 4-H.  You must register at www.YQCA.org to receive credit for the class.  

January 25  State 4-H Scholarships are Due in 4honline

January 31  4-H Volunteer "Boot Camp"  6-9 pm  Allen County Fairgrounds

4-H Club Leaders that would like ideas on how to improve their club meetings to attract and keep 4-H members are encouraged to attend.  RSVP to the Huntington County Extension Office.  Carpools will be available.

February 1  4-H Camp Counselor Applications are due by 4:00 pm

February 2  4-H Beef ID Day.  9 - 11 am .  Huntington County Fairgrounds.

Enter your beef steers, dairy steers, and commercial heifers in your 4honline account by April 1.

February 2  4-H Benefit Auction 

Hold the evening for a great meal and super auction to support the 4-H program and the Huntington County Fairgrounds.

February  4   YQCA  6:30 - 7:30 p.m.  First Merchants Bank Heritage Hall

YQCA is required of all youth exhibiting Beef, Dairy, Starter Calves, Swine, Goats, Sheep, Poultry, and Rabbits in Indiana 4-H.  You must register at www.YQCA.org to receive credit for the class.  

February 5  4-H Sewing Workshop Introductory Meeting  6 - 7:30 p.m.  Purdue Extension Conference Room

We will be offering workshops to help 4-H members with their sewing projects again this year.  Our first workshop will be Feb 5.  We will cover fabric and pattern selection for an appropriate workshop project.  We recommend a parent or adult helper attend this session with the 4-H member.  The complete schedule and information is available at the bottom of this page.  Youth MUST be enrolled in 4-H.  There is an additional $10 fee for this series of workshops.

Beginners will meet each Tuesday and Advanced sewers on Thursdays.  Each from 6 - 7:30 p.m.

May 15  Animal / Livestock enrollment is due in 4honline.

All animals (except poultry, dog, cat and small pets) MUST be enrolled in 4honline to be eligible to exhibit at the Huntington County 4-H Fair or the Indiana State Fair.  Youth who plan on exhibiting SWINE at the Indiana State Fair must have DNA samples turned in to the Extension Office.

May 15 Final Day to Drop / Add 4-H projects in 4honline.

June

June 1 - 30  FairEntry for all youth planning to exhibit at the Huntington County 4-H Fair

All youth enrolled in 4-H that plan to exhibit at the Huntington County 4-H Fair are REQUIRED to enter their exhibits in FairEntry.  Youth who do not enroll will not receive premium money; will not have their name listed in the fair results; and will not be eligible for the Indiana State Fair (non-animal projects).

Any youth needing assistance with FairEntry should contact the Extension Office.  We are happy to assist you.

June 4-6  4-H Camp  North Webster

Registration is due May 1 to attend 4-H Camp.  Camp is for 4-H members in grades 3 - 6 (as of January 1).

June 10  4-H Leaders Meeting  7 pm  Purdue Extension Office

Last meeting prior to the 4-H Fair.  All clubs should be represented.

June 13  Mini 4-H Fun Day

This program is for youth in grades K-2 (as of January).  Cost $10.  RSVP to Purdue Extension

This meeting is open to the public.

June 30 ALL record sheets are required to be turned in to your 4-H club leader by June 30 to receive your Verification Form (required to exhibit at the 4-H Fair).  Club leaders make ask for them at your June club meeting.
