How does 4-H work?

Join a club!

Clubs are groups of youth and volunteers who generally meet monthly. These meetings give youth opportunities to share their project work, plan community service activities, and practice running meetings. Clubs are led by adults or teens. Hamilton County 4-H Clubs list

Complete a project.

Members choose from a wide range of individual projects, based on their interests and the availability of a knowledgeable adult in the community to serve as a mentor/leader. Through these projects, members set goals, learn the skills needed to achieve goals, and exhibit/demonstrate their skills at events like county fairs, speaking contests and other competitions. The Cost of 4-H...

The cost of 4-H depends on the projects you take. There is a $25 materials fee. This includes the state 4-H fee, cost of project manuals, mailings and other materials provided by the 4-H Council. It does not cover the cost of the project you choose to make. There may be a minimal fee for club dues, which supports local club activities and programs.
