Youth for the Quality Care of Animals

To exhibit beef cattle, dairy cattle, swine, sheep, goats, poultry and rabbits, 4-H members must be certified through the Youth for the Quality Care of Animals. This is an annual program that can be completed via online modules or in-person trainings. More information about YQCA is available at http://yqca.org. The goals of having 4-H members complete the YQCA program include ensuring that

o   Youth will be more prepared to be ambassadors for animal agriculture in their role as youth livestock exhibitors.

o   Animals from youth livestock programs are treated with the utmost care.

o   4-H members are contributing to a safe, wholesome food supply.

In order to exhibit beef cattle, dairy cattle, swine, sheep, goats, poultry and rabbits, 4-H members must be certified through the Youth for the Quality Care of Animals. This training MUST be completed by May 15th. If an exhibitor does not complete the training by the deadline they will not be allowed to bring their beef cattle, dairy cattle, swine, sheep, goats, poultry or rabbits, to the fairgrounds and will not be allowed to participate in the respective shows.

You can register online and sign up for the trainings, once completed, you will be awarded a certificate. This is an annual program that has a fee of $3 for in person trainings and $12 for online trainings. The fees are collected by the YQCA platform online when registering for the training and cannot be accepted at the training. Please register prior to attending.
