Youth for the Quality Care of Animals

New this year!  Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) is a required training for exhibitors showing beef cattle, dairy cattle, swine, sheep, goats, poultry and rabbits, 4-H members must be certified through the Youth for the Quality Care of Animals.  This is an annual program that can be completed via online modules or in-person trainings.

Youth must have completed the YQCA training by June 15 in order to exhibit at the fair.  If an exhibitor does not complete the training by June 15 they will not be allowed to bring their beef cattle, dairy cattle, swine, sheep, goats, poultry or rabbits to the fairgrounds and will not be allowed to participate in the respective shows.

Who: Any 4-H member enrolled in: poultry, rabbits, goats, sheep, swine, beef, and/or dairy

What: The Youth for the Quality Care of Animals Program is a program that will provide quality assurance education on poultry, rabbits, goats, sheep, swine, beef, and dairy.

When: 3 separate opportunities:

Option 1: Monday, March 26, 5:30 p.m. 4-H Building at the fairgrounds

Option 2: Monday, April 9, 5:30 p.m. 4-H Building at the fairgrounds

Option 3: Monday, May 31, 5:30 p.m. 4-H Building at the fairgrounds

There are 2 ways to be YQCA certified:  1.  Youth may complete the entire course online at yqca.learngrow.io and pay a $12 fee for online certification.   2.  Youth may attend an in-person YQCA training.  In 2018 the $3 fee for the in-person sessions will be paid by the sponsorship of the 4-H Inc. Board. You will be receiving a letter with a coupon code to waive the $3 fee.  Once you have received this code please register for your class at www.yqca.learngrow.io.
