A 4-H project is a series of learning experiences for 4-H members. There are 60 project areas available for 4-H'ers to choose from in Franklin County. Most projects have manuals or books to assist the 4-H'er with his/her project. 4-H is a "learn by doing" program. Leaders, Junior Leaders and parents are encouraged to teach and show members how to complete a task, but members are expected to learn how to do things themselves, and complete their own projects. The Franklin County 4-H Fair is a favorite family friendly summer activity for the residents and visitors of Franklin County. It takes place the 3rd week in July at the 4-H Fairgrounds in Brookville, Indiana.
Visit us to see the incredible 4-H exhibits, quality livestock and animal shows, open class exhibits, rides, food, games, grandstand events and more! Admission to the fair is free!

Production agriculture will be front and center at the annual Davis-Purdue Agricultural Center Field Day. The event is scheduled for August 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The educational program is free. Davis-Purdue is located five miles north of Farmland on Indiana 1.

Members enrolled in animal/livestock projects who choose not to exhibit live animals at the fair, may exhibit a poster on a topic covered in the project manual.
