2020 Quilt Show Rules and Application Form
Please read entire application before completing
A $5.00 fee will be collected for each quilt exhibited for the Franklin County Homemakers and Quilt Batts community projects fund. The $5.00 will be collected at the time of entry. Make checks payable to Franklin County Quilt Show. Exhibitor will receive one admission ticket for personal use to visit the quilt show once.
Quilts must be preregistered by May 6, 2020 by mail, (8147 Golden Rd, Brookville IN 47012) e-mail, (email@example.com) or turned in to the Franklin County Extension Office, Government Center, 1010 Franklin Avenue, Room 214, Brookville, IN 47012.
If known, acknowledgement of pattern designer and of quilter should be included on application.
Quilts entered in the QUILT OF VALOR category (from 55”x65” to 72”x90”) should adhere to the standards of that organization, information available at www.QOV.org. Quilts of Valor will be, or may have been presented to an active military personnel or a veteran, (quilter may select recipient).
With the exception of the Challenge Category, Quilts must be brought to the gym on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. If this is not possible, call 765-969-6294 or 765-647-5661.
A Viewer’s Choice ribbon will be awarded in each category except the challenge category and quilts used in the Bed Turning.
LOG CABIN is the theme of the 2020 CHALLENGE. Any quilted item, except clothing, constructed predominantly of log cabin or a variation of log cabin blocks will be accepted for this category. Reminder: Quilting should be 3 layers: Layer 1-pieced top, hand or machine sewn, Layer 2-batting, Layer 3-backing. Finished item must be hand or machine quilted.
Challenge entries must be turned in at the Franklin County Extension Office by Wed. May 6 to be eligible for judging. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place monetary awards will be made in the Challenge category. Winners and awards will be announced at the Quilt Show.
Quilts can be picked up on Saturday, May 16 from 5:00 until 5:30 p.m. Please make other arrangements if this time is not possible.
A quilt may be entered in only one category. The exhibitor will choose the category, however the committee reserves the right to change categories if deemed more appropriate.
The committee reserves the right to refuse any quilt or item that is deemed not appropriate for this show.
All reasonable care will be taken to make sure that the condition of the quilts are maintained, however neither the committee nor the Franklin County Extension Homemakers or Quilt Batts can be held responsible for damages that could occur.
