Below is a list of current openings and ways to get involved in the Elkhart County 4-H program.
Please note, the application and screening process to become a Leader/Volunteer does involve a number of steps. Applicants can not be accepted into the program until the entire procedure has been completed!

- Club Leader
- Become an Organizational Leader or Assistant Leader of a new or existing traditional 4-H club.
- Mini 4-H Project Leader
- Lead or assist with a Mini 4-H project for the year. Or become an extra helper that fills in where needed throughout the year.
- Mini 4-H Speedy Workshop Coordinator
- Plan and organize Speedy Workshops from February-May for the Mini 4-H program.
- Performing Arts, Public Speaking, Demonstrations Contest Organizer
- Plan and organize PPD. This includes booking a location, finding judges, creating and distributing registration forms and organizing helpers for the event.
- Marketing Committee Member
- If you have an interest in marketing and promoting the 4-H program... this is the place for you!
- Kids Day Manager
- Organize and manage the booth in heritage park on Kids Day of the fair. Plan scavenger hunt.
- Building Superintendent
- Work with other volunteers to transform the ECCC building during the month of July. This includes, moving and setting up displays, assisting with judging, guarding the building during fair and helping clean everything up post fair.
- Fundraising Assistant
- Coordinate Gives Back Days at Hacienda and other locations. Promote fundraising events.
- Data Entry Helper
- Learn to use Fair Entry software to generate reports for distributing fair passes and packets. Also, generate labels and exhibit cards for all projects.
- Officer Training Coordinator
- Coordinate and plan the Officer Training program held in January/February that trains youth on how to fulfill the expectations of their elected office.
- STEM Coordinator
- Seeking a person interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math that would like to teach it in an after school setting on a weekly basis.
- Elkhart Regional Specialist
- Looking for a seasoned volunteer that would like to focus on developing greater 4-H presence in the city of Elkhart.
- Spark Club Leader
- Searching for a volunteer who would like to teach something not already offered in the 4-H program for at least 6 hours to youth that are not already enrolled in 4-H. For example, the Elkhart County 4-H Remote Control Car Spark Club.
- Fashion Revue Committee Member
- Interested in Sewing/Modeling? Consider helping out on the Fashion Revue committee that organizes an event for youth who sew their own garments and wear them for judges on stage.
- Social Media Expert
- Social Media is quickly becoming a primary way of communication with families. We are looking for someone who would like to update our Facebook and Instagram pages with pertinent 4-H information on a regular basis.
- Spanish Speaking Leader
- Seeking bilingual individuals who could assist with translating 4-H materials and reaching Latino audiences in our community.
- State Fair Project Transporter
- Interested in taking one and/or several trips to Indianapolis during the week immediately following the Elkhart County 4-H Fair to move and check-in outstanding 4-H projects from Elkhart youth? We also need help bringing them back in late August.
- Junior Livestock Advisory Board Leader
- Help coordinate Junior Livestock Advisory Board meetings with Robert Kelly once a month from January-June.
- Teens as Teacher Leader
- Organize and plan the Teens as Teachers team and program alongside Robert Kelly.
- Animal Science Day Camp Leader
- Assist with managing and planning the Animal Science Day Camp that takes place in June.
