The purpose of 4-H record sheet completion is to teach members how to keep records, which is an important life skill. Record keeping is an ongoing process that should not end when the 4-H year ends. 4-H strives to connect the life skills learned or practiced during the planning, creation, and exhibition of 4-H projects.

Mini/Exploring 4-H is a program designed to encourage positive development of children, kindergarten through second grade. The goal of Mini/Exploring 4-H is to help young children explore friendships outside the family; explore the way in which things work; practice both small and large muscle control; and think about the ways people work together on projects.
