Livestock, forage, grazing and pollinator information will be presented. Topics and speakers include “Rotational Grazing” by Victor Shelton, NRCS Conservation Agronomist, “Pollinators” by Roy Ballard and Sara Dzimianski, Purdue ANR Extension Educator, and “Soil Testing in Pastures” by Jeff Woodward, NRCS Soil Scientist. The keynote speaker is Keith Johnson, Purdue Forage Specialist, and will focus on Forage Species.
Cost of the program is $5 per person, which includes the meal. Registration is due by August 9.
Tri-County Greener Pastures is co-sponsored by Purdue Extension, Soil and Water Conservation Districts, Indiana State Department of Agriculture, Division of Soil Conservation and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. Funding is partially provided through a Clean Water Indiana grant, offered through the State Department of Agriculture.
