Manual is required!

State Fair Entries:

Each county will be allowed to send one exhibitor from each level.

** Fair Entry – You MUST register your 4-H project in Fair Entry if you plan to exhibit at the 4-H Fair. See page 21.**

Exhibit Introduction:

The 4-H Wood Science program provides youth with educational information about wood and how it can be used to construct items. The Wood Science project develops project skills (i.e., safe practices, using hand tools, using power tools, making specialized wood cuts) and life skills (i.e., decision-making, using science and technology, developing communication skills). These fun-filled, hands-on learning experiences are provided under the direction of caring adults. Complete the activities and record sheet as indicated in the manual. If you complete a poster, refer to Poster Guidelines.

All posters, notebooks, and display boards must include a reference list indicating where information was obtained, giving credit to the original author, to complete the 4-H member’s exhibit. This reference list

should/might include web site links, people and professionals interviewed, books, magazines, etc. It is recommended this reference list be attached to the back of a poster or display board, be the last page of a notebook, or included as part of the display visible to the public. A judge is not to discredit an exhibit for the manner in which references are listed.

Level: Wood Science Level 1 (Grades 3-4)
