4-H Volunteer Information

December 2, 2019
4-H Grows Here Logo

4-H Volunteers are a vital part of Indiana 4-H.  The top 3 reasons individuals choose to volunteer are:

  1. To help others.
  2. To make a difference.
  3. To support a child in 4-H.

If you're interested in learning more about the impact of Indiana 4-H volunteers, check out the "Indiana 4-H Volunteer Impact Study" under "Related Files."

If you're interested in becoming a 4-H volunteer, we can help you find a place where your talents and interests will be a great fit.  Just email lwahlstr@purdue.edu or call (260) 925-2562 to let us get to know you.  Becoming a volunteer is a simple process of:

  1. Filling out and returning a Volunteer Application (available at the Extension Office - 215 E. 9th St.-Ste. 300, Auburn) with proof of a government-issued ID
  2. Making a 4HOnline profile account
  3. Taking the child abuse prevention training

Each year, you'll re-affirm your interest in remaining a 4-H volunteer between October 1st and January 15th by logging back in to sign your Adult Behavioral Expectations, update your contact information, and let us know which projects you plan on continuing to volunteer with. Instructions on how to "re-up" are below in the "Related Files."

Every two years, you'll need to take our child abuse prevention training.  This training is designed for you to be able to recognize signs of child abuse and know how to report it. The instructions for how to take the training are also in the "Related Files."

I look forward to working with you!
