National 4-H Beekeeping Essay Contest

Topic: Honey Varietals, State to State

Eligibility: Active 4-H Club member only**


State Submission Deadline: February 15, 2019

**(Any 4-H Club member who placed first, second or third in previous years of the national competition is NOT eligible to win in 2019, however,

state competition winners remain eligible to enter the national competition. Entered essays must encompass the designated topic only.

There will be NO exceptions.)



Money Smart Kid 2019 - Indiana

Deadline February 22, 2019


In support of Indiana Money Smart Week 2019, the Money Smart Kid Essay Contest Committee and partner organizations are presenting the Money Smart Kid Essay Contest.


Students in grades 6-8 are encouraged to answer the Money Smart Question with an essay of 300 words or less. The committee will review all essays and the top three finalists will be invited to attend the Indiana Money Smart Week Kickoff Luncheon in Indianapolis, IN on Friday, March 29, 2019.


All three will receive a CollegeChoice 529 plan deposit and one of them will be named Indiana’s Money Smart Kid 2019. Parents and sponsoring teachers are encouraged to attend the luncheon. Teachers will also be awarded prizes as we celebrate and kickoff Money Smart Week 2019.


Guidelines - Candidates Must

* Be a student in grades 6-8 that lives and attends school in Indiana.

* Have knowledge of core money management pillars of saving, spending, borrowing, & Planning appropriate for age and grade level

* Be comfortable responding to questions about how they practice good money management skills in their daily lives

Daviess County Homemaker's Scholarship

Please see below for application


1. Scholarships of $100 each will be given using available funds.

2. A daughter or granddaughter, son or grandson, or step-daughter/step-son of any Daviess County Extension Homemaker who lives in Daviess County  or in the home of a member who lives in another county is eligible.

3. To be given to a high school Senior.

4. A grade point average of at least 85% or 3.0 on 4.0 system - “B” average.

5. A daughter or son of the Daviess County Extension Homemaker will be given first priority with a random drawing of remaining qualified grandchildren to select additional finalists.

6. Applications must be in to the Extension Office by March 1.
