4-H offers a wide variety of workshops and activities for youth.
4-H Camp is for youth in grades 3 - 5. It takes place in early June. It is three days and two nights in Dearborn County, IN. Youth from 11 counties come together for three days of FUN and educational activities. There is a cost for this activity. Scholarships are available. Registration is due May 8.
4-H Teen Leadership (4-H Teen Camp) is for youth in grades 6-8. It takes place during the same time and at the same location as 4-H Camp. Youth experience learning more about themselves and how to be an active leader in their community. There is a cost for this activity. Scholarships are available. Registration is due May 8.
4-H Electric Workshop is for youth beginning in 5th grade that are in their 3rd year of the 4-H electrical project. It is a three day training on the Purdue Campus. There is a cost for this activity. Scholarships are available.
4-H Round-Up is for youth in grades 7-9. It is three days and two nights on the Purdue campus learning about career opportunities and leadership development. Experience residence hall living on a Big Ten campus. There is a cost for this activity. scholarships are available to 4-H members. Registration is due May 15.
4-H Youth Congress is for youth in grades 8 - 12. There are sessions with information for youth (and adults) to take back to their clubs. Learn new ideas for improving the 4-H program in your county. This event is one day and includes breakfast and lunch. There is a fee. Registration is due September 15.
4-H Band and 4-H Chorus. Grades 8 - 12. You do NOT have to be in 4-H to be a part of either of these great opportunities to training with college level instructors. 4-H Band performs during 4-H Round-Up. 4-H Chorus performs during 4-H Round-Up and at the Indiana State Fair. Check out the additional information below. There is a fee for these activities. Scholarships are available to 4-H members. Registration deadline is April 1.
4-H Science Workshops are for youth currently in grades 9 - 12. There are three days of specialized training on a specific area of interest. The workshops take place at Purdue in June. State 4-H Junior Leader Conference for 4-H Jr. Leaders in grades 9 - 12. It is 4 days and 3 nights of leadership development focusing on personal and team leadership. It is held on the University of Indianapolis campus. There is a fee for this event. Scholarships are available. Registration deadline is May 15.
Indiana State Fair Youth Leadership Conference is for youth in grades 9 - 12. It takes place on the Indiana State Fairgrounds for 5 days during the Indiana State Fair. Youth learn about the legislative system, youth advocacy and service learning. There is a fee for this conference. Applications are due July 1. Scholarships are available.
Exhibit Hall Workers for the Indiana State Fair. Watch the video and learn about what it is like to get PAID to have a great time working at the Indiana State Fair. Application is also found below. Youth must be 15 years or older to participate. Applications are due April 15. Work is available the end of July - the completion of the Indiana State Fair.
National 4-H Dairy Conference is for youth in grades 9 - 12. It takes place in the fall on the University of Wisconsin - Madison campus. Educational sessions on dairy production and related careers. There is a fee for this conference. Scholarships are available.
National 4-H Conference is for youth in grades 9 - 12. Delegates are selected from application and interview. The conference focuses on leadership and citizenship skills. The conference takes place at the national 4-H center near Washington DC. Applications are due December 1. This is a sponsored trip.
Citizenship Washington Focus takes place in Washington DC. The conference teaches personal and team leadership as well as citizenship skills. Youth will visit legislators on Capital Hill and will sightsee in Washington DC. There is a fee for this trip. Registration deadline is March 15.
National 4-H Congress takes place following Thanksgiving. Delegates are selected through an application and interview process. It is the premier leadership development conference. Application deadline is May 1. This is a sponsored opportunity.
