About

Are you trying to grow a bountiful garden, or have the greenest yard in the neighborhood?

If you said yes, join Purdue Extension for a 3-part series on soil science for homeowners entitled, “Healthy Soils, Healthy Plants.” During the series educators will help you understand your soil, demonstrate how to properly take soil samples, help you understand your soil test results, and teach you how to calculate your fertilizer needs.

Proper nutrient management and application improves soil health to provide benefits to the environment and your wallet. Using the proper soil amendments will also contribute to healthier soil that should result in healthier plants. We’ll help you determine the right thing to do the first time, rather than guessing, which should save you time and money in the long run.

This virtual program will utilize Zoom to meet for detailed discussion. Program sessions will meet at 7 p.m. on the following Mondays: April 19, April 26, and May 3. The program will also utilize Google Classroom to provide recorded presentations to view before discussion sessions. Additional publication resources will also be provided through Google Classroom. Information for access to the virtual classroom will be sent after registration.

Registration is $25. The link to online registration is bit.ly/HSHP21. Class size will be limited to 40 people due to the expected interactive nature of instruction, so sign up today!
